Carry Me Back To Old Virginny

or Christmas, 2010: A Recap

Our second Christmas as a married couple saw us on the road to Tim’s boyhood home in Luray, VA.  We rolled in from one direction while a storm rolled in from another:

Despite putting on a brave face, the storm left behind a mere dusting for Christmas morn.

Tim’s face holds many kinds of happy, all of which I love.  But his home-happiness is one of my favorites.

He is a family loving, piano playing, tinsel wearing, peace loving good man in a day and age when good men are hard to find.

IIIIII  love him.

Over the course of the weekend spent,

we walked,

opened gifts,

played games,

made up C.S. Lewis trivia quizzes,

went to church,

and generally had a good time and ate way more amazing food than humanly possible.

It was nice.

In fact, it was really nice.

I hope your Christmas was just as good.

Mmm, looks like a relaxing, fun time with family! I’m glad you got to spend time with the families this year. The Luray mountains are beautiful; it would make me want to take a really long walk just to take the views in!
I told Phil he was still my best Christmas gift again this year–straight from God. Glad Tim is your forever best gift from God too.
