….we want to buy a trailer.

Tim finished installing the hitch today (using his newly acquired, handy-dandy torque wrench) and we are ready to pull.

Here’s the problem(s):

  1. The trailers at Lowes aren’t quite what we were looking for.
  2. So we went to craigslist and searched for ‘utility trailer’.  We found a cheap, jet-ski-turned-utility trailer for under half of what we would have spent at Lowes.  Of course, the size wasn’t our ideal 5×8, but it was close enough.  Also, we’d have to make a few modifications, raise the sides, add some tie down hooks, etc.  But for the price, we thought hey.  This is a good deal.We went and looked at it, talked it over for a few days, called the guy and told him we were interested, ran into a problem with our bank’s weekend hours, couldn’t get the cash we needed to go buy it, called him again, and told him we’d be back in touch when we could.That was last weekend.
  3. This week on craigslist, another trailer popped up.  Longer.  Bigger tires.  New tires.  Sturdier.  Higher sides.  Same price.  No modifications necessary.

So the question of the hour in the DoubleKnotted household: what would Jesus have us do?

    Buy the better trailer. You didn’t make any promises. Trust me, he would have sold it if someone else came along with a better, more immediate offer (as i know too well from my experiences with craigslist sellers)!

      We did, and it’s pretty stinking nice! I told Tim on the way home that it was worth at least a few man points, and he grinned a little and said ‘yup’. 😉

      Yep! Totally agree with Leah on this one! Glad you bought the one you really wanted! 🙂
