Molasses-Bourbon Ribs

I fixed these for Tim for our anniversary using baby back pork ribs I got with a coupon on sale (LOVE that combination!!).

1/2 cup bourbon (we actually used a Canadian Whiskey, which tasted fine to our uneducated palates)
1/4 cup molasses
1/4 cup cider vinegar
1/2 cup water
1 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
6-7 lbs ribs

Combine all ingredients in a crockpot, cook on low 5-6 hours.  (Ribs may also be frozen in the marinade for a future meal, precooked on a grill in foil over medium, indirect heat 2hrs, or precooked in the oven in a baking dish with the marinade and a cover for 1.5-2 hrs at 350F.)  Once ribs are tender, brush with barbecue sauce and finish by grilling (medium heat, 20 minutes) or broiling (500F, 15 minutes).  Turn once, and baste frequently with barbecue sauce:

1 Tablespoon olive oil
1 Tablespoon bourbon
1 cup ketchup
2 Tablespoons molasses
2 Tablespoons cider vinegar
1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon mustard
pepper to taste

I served them with sweet potato, tossed salad, and a red snapper mixed drink.  We loved the rich, full flavor!
