My Secret Obsession

Okay, so maybe this isn’t a secret.

But it is definitely an obsession.

I think I was born with it.  My Dad has it.  My Grandma had it.  Almost all my Aunts have it.

Yup, definitely something in the blood.

Would you shut up already and just show me the stinkin’ “it”?

Oh.  Oh, yes.  Of course.  Sorry.

Here it is:

How can something be so ugly and so beautiful all at once?

Lady's Slipper

Looks good now, tastes good later:

something closely related to a wild huckleberry

This was my Grandma Gesink’s favorite, except in Colorado they were much smaller:

Lilly of the Valley

This might not be G rated.  But it is amazing.  And fun.  And another obsession for another day.

 I love the shapes:

 And the colors:

Most of all, I love the promise:

Learn how the Lilies of the field grow: they are not wearied, neither spin: Yet I say unto you, that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.  Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field which is today and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall He not do much more unto you, O ye of little faith?
