ROAD WORK AHEAD!
Thanks for your patience as I work to get this page all linked up and running. It may take awhile (weeks? months?!), but I’ll announce when it’s all finished!
New bride kitchen stories never scared me; I knew how to cook when we got married. Or at least, I thought I did. I’d been helping my Mom in the kitchen since day one…or slightly thereafter. I’d planned, shopped, simmered, stirred, fried, baked, and served…but NOT on a thrice daily basis with brand new pans, wobbly burners, and a hungry husband. My cooking pride has since been humbled, and I no longer view myself as Kitchen Wonder Woman. Oh, Tim will tell you that my fiascos weren’t THAT bad…but he is nice like that. He thinks burnt-on-the-outside, raw-on-the-inside blueberry pancakes taste good the sixth Saturday morning in a row (I was determined to get them right!). Now that’s kindness.
Anyway, I’ve learned a few lessons since the honeymoon (thankfully, the food that week turned out GREAT). One of them is how hard it can be to come up with a week’s worth of food ideas. Here I’ve put together a few lists of meal ideas (with links to recipes when at all possible) to help you in all your menu-planning, meal-concocting kitchen glory.
Oh, and just so you know, I’m a very practical cook; most of my recipes are simple, quick, and adaptable…but they still taste great!
